College Hoops Conference Tournaments Saturday
Like yesterday, these numbers are jumping all over the place. I have plenty of information and knowledge to share on these games but by the time most see the breakdown these numbers are changing because games are on all day. The information paid dividends yesterday so let’s do it again. Going into today our record on the season is: (134-135-3) with our goal to finish above 52%. Let’s get after it!

12:00pm: Ohio State Buckeyes (+7) vs. Purdue Boilermakers
We have been on Ohio State the past two games and they haven’t disappointed even without Brice Sensabaugh yesterday. This team is running hot and there is no reason to jump off the train now. The spread is unknown at this time due to Sensabaugh’s injury concerns. Center Felix Okpara has the size to matchup with Zach Edey but his slender frame could be an issue. OSU first game vs. Iowa the spread was +1.5, vs. MSU +4 then +6 without Sensabaugh and now vs. Purdue the spread will need to be higher than 6 w/o BS and with BS it needs to be above 4.
12:00pm: Saint Louis Billikens vs. VCU Rams (-3.5)
VCU has the athletes and defense that can and will stuff the Saint Louis offense. The Rams didn’t have any issues with the Billikens this season and I don’t think that will change very much now. This number has only moved 3 points from their last meeting due to this being a neutral game. The spread should be 5 in my opinion.
2:00pm: Vanderbilt Commodores (+6) vs. Texas A&M Aggies
These teams are very similar to one another. Normally one would look to fade Vandy off of its win against Kentucky but not in a tournament environment. It’s usually the opposite. Vandy makes its FTs just like A&M. These two matchup well and this number is two points too high if you ask me. This number should be no higher than 4 so I’m on Vandy.
2:30pm: Penn State Nittany Lions vs. Indiana Hoosiers (-3)
Penn State destroyed Indiana in their only matchup this season in what was their last defeat before going on a winning streak and finally figuring itself out. Indiana is a different team now and I believe that will show tonight. PSU has no size on the interior and Indiana has Trayce Jackson-Davis looking for revenge. Indiana also has bigger guards that matchup well defensively with Penn State. Huge revenge and mismatch.
4:30pm: Tulane Green Wave (+6) vs. Memphis Tigers
Tulane has had success against Memphis the past two meetings and this number may be a little too steep to lay with Memphis. I like Tulane here because they can shoot the ball and run with the Tigers if needed. Take the points.
Other Highlighted Games:
12:00pm: Missouri Tigers vs. Alabama Crimson Tide (-9)
Alabama blasted Mizzou when these two faced each other earlier in the season. Missouri is coming off a nice win against Tennessee. I thought the spread was wrong with the Vols being favored by 6 and the Tigers proved that. Alabama dominated Mississippi State on both sides of the ball. BUT, Bama made 13 3PT to MSU 1. No competition. Alabama didn’t have a great game but they made their 3PTs. If MIzzou can keep the Tide off the 3PT line they will have a chance to stay inside this number. In the first matchup Alabama won the 3PT battle 10 to 3 and shot 13 more FTs. Plain and simple: Will Mizzou keep Bama off the 3PT line?
5:00pm: Texas Longhorns vs. Kansas Jayhawks (-2)
Last time out Texas embarrassed Kansas in Austin. Kansas has been running through teams in this tournament but so has Texas. This should be a great game. I see Kanas winning but I’m going to sit back and enjoy.
