MLB Handicaps: Day 5

If H+R+RBI is unavailable to you then I suggest you split a 1 unit bet 33% each or whatever % you’d like to 1 or 2 hits, 1 run & 1 RBI. You should get + money on 2/3 of those and that will help long term. Or find a way to pair them up in 2’s or 3’s (parlay). For baseball season, I personally bet 1 unit to win X and don’t lay more than -165. These plays also work great with PrizePicks. Questions? Just ask! Follow for more!

MLB Units for March/April (-1.17 units)

Early Slate

  • 1:00pm cst: Atlanta Braves (-340) vs. Chicago White Sox (+270); Total

Well, we start the day with quite the lopsided matchup. The White Sox were swept by the Tigers last week and the Braves are coming off a loss to the Phillies. Going under due to the wind blowing 12 mph inward in about 44 degree weather. If Charlie Morton can lock down this weaker White Sox offense it will help us out along with the wind.

Pick: UNDER 9 (-105) [via DraftKings]

  • 1:20pm cst: Colorado Rockies (+195) vs. Chicago Cubs (-238); Total 7

Cubs starting pitcher Shota Imanaga will be making his debut. The weather will be pretty ugly with wind blowing in and maybe some rain, which is why the total is as low as it is. I like a prop here due to the Cubs price being massively inflated.

Pick: Dansby Swanson H+R+RBI OVER 1.5 (-130)

  • 3:00pm cst: Pittsburgh Pirates (-108) vs. Washington Nationals (-112); Total 8.5

Don’t look now but the Pittsburgh Pirates are (4-0)! The Pirates have done a great job against left handed pitching. Lefty MacKenzie Gore will be on the mound for the Nationals. Marco Gonzalez is on the mound so it’s not the best matchup. I’m leaning on the Pirates batters that have been crushing lefties.

Pick: Ke’Bryan Hayes H+R+RBI OVER 1.5 (-130) [via DraftKings]

Pick: Bryan Reynolds H+R+RBI OVER 1.5 (-120) [via DraftKings]

Evening Slate

  • 5:30pm cst: Kansas City Royals (+136) vs. Baltimore Orioles (-162); Total 8

Orioles are coming off a loss and their offense loves to face Michael Wacha. Time to fade the Royals after a huge 11-0 win yesterday.

Pick: Orioles -1.5 (+130) [via DraftKings]

  • 5:30pm cst: Cincinnati Reds (+124) vs. Philadelphia Phillies (-148); Total 8

Andrew Abbott had a hot start to the season but came crashing down at the end of the season. Phillies will have lefty Christopher Sanchez on the mound who was strong last year. Reds against a left handed pitcher on the road? I will back the Phillies.

Pick: Phillies (-148) [via DraftKings]

  • 5:40pm cst: Los Angeles Angels (-108) vs. Miami Marlins (-122); Total 8.5

We have been backing young pitchers and we will do the same with the Marlins’ Max Meyer. I’m taking his strikeout prop to go over. He has the talent to get strikeout and this is the perfect lineup for him to face.

Pick: Max Meyer Strikeouts OVER 4.5 (-145) [via DraftKings]

  • 6:00pm cst: Detroit Tigers (+120) vs. New York Mets (-142); Total 7.5

Sean Manae will be on the mound for the Mets will that help get them into the win column? The Tigers swept the White Sox and are looking to keep the heartache going for Mets fans. I rather have the hot Tigers with a plus price against a lost Mets team.

Pick: Tigers (+120) [via DraftKings]

Night Slate

  • 8:40pm cst: New York Yankees (-120) vs. Arizona Diamondbacks (+100); Total 9.5

The Yankees are red hot after sweeping the Astros in Houston. I like Luis Gil and we are getting a cheap price on him and the Yanks against Ryne Nelson. Let’s continue to ride the Yankees in this one.

Pick: Yankees (-120) [via DraftKings]

  • 8:40pm cst: Boston Red Sox (-155) vs. Oakland Athletics (+130); Total 8.5

Neither of these offenses are off to great starts. Oakland’s Joe Boyle was strong in his only three starts last season. It’s hard to trust either team offensively. Rather than going with the under here I will stay with my fade of Tanner Houck and back Boyle.

Pick: Athletics (+130) [via DraftKings]

  • 8:40pm cst: St. Louis Cardinals (+102) vs. San Diego Padres (-122); Total 8

It’s always hard for me to trust Kyle Gibson. The Cardinals offense is already are out to a slow start. Rookie Victor Scott II carried the offense last night against the Dodgers. Let’s see if the Padres offense can pick up from where they left off yesterday. Starter Matt Waldron has also been good.

Pick: Padres (-122) [via DraftKings]

  • 9:00pm cst: San Francisco Giants (+164) vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (-202); Total 8.5

I think this Dodgers offense, after a slow game yesterday will be happy to see Keaton Winn on the mound for the Giants. Winn didn’t have a good season last year and the Dodgers ate him up in their one matchup. I feel like James Paxton can be the next down and out starter who turns his career around with the Dodgers.

Pick: Dodgers -1.5 (-105) [via DraftKings]

Pick: Freddie Freeman H+R+RBI OVER 1.5 (-155) [via DraftKings]
