Iowa Hawkeyes (+8) vs. Purdue Boilermakers; total 149.5; 6:00pm ct
Purdue back at home against maybe the 3rd hottest team in the conference behind Purdue and Indiana. Iowa was able to take down Purdue in the Big 10 Tournament last year and its offense has been as good as any in the conference recently. I feel almost every Purdue home game has the Boilermakers laying 8 points. I think the Iowa offense, which is in the top 10 in the country for offensive efficiency will be able to keep up with Purdue. Two points too high for me with Iowa’s current form.
UAB Blazers vs. North Texas Mean Green (-2); total 128.5; 7:00pm ct
North Texas has a two game lead over UAB for 2nd place in the CUSA standings. The Mean Green’s strength is its defense and it ranks in the top 25 in defensive efficiency. This is a huge game for UNT at home and they have had recent success against UAB. I’ll lay the points with the Mean Green here.
Northwestern Wildcats (+5) vs. Ohio State Buckeyes; total 136.5; 7:00pm
We continue to fade the Ohio State Buckeyes with this matchup. OSU hasn’t proven anything to deserve to lay 5 points at home. NW has looked really good and is pushing to secure an NCAA Tournament invitation. I’m more willing to take a shot with NW keeping this game close than playing Russian roulette with 5/6 bullets betting the Buckeyes.
Arizona State Sun Devils vs. Stanford Cardinal (-3); total 121.5; 8:00pm ct
These two teams are moving in opposite directions. ASU is in a free fall and Stanford is trying to finish the season on a strong note. The Cardinal defense has been superb recently. The Stanford 3PT shooting has also improved. This team has all the talent and they just started the season way too slow. The trapping and pressure zone defense of Stanford will give ASU fits. The Sun Devils will then settle for bad shots and a ton of missed 3PTs. I like Stanford here. Big game.
USC Trojans (+4.5) vs. Oregon Ducks; total 142.5; 10:00pm ct
Late night PAC 12 primetime spot in Eugene, OR tonight with the Ducks hosting the Trojans. This is a huge game for the Ducks NCAA Tournament hopes. USC is still keeping pace with the top of the PAC 12 and is hoping to secure its postseason birth. USC is led by its veteran guards Drew Peterson and Boogie Ellis. USC’s defense ranks in the Top 50 of defensive efficiency and plays well on the road. The Trojans will need its defense to step up to keep this game close, which I feel like they do. Oregon has had plenty of struggles this season and playing at home has not helped. Fight on.
