NBA Las Vegas Summer League: Day 10

It is time for the much anticipated Las Vegas Summer League in the NBA where the new draft picks get to show what they are made of. This is a one of a kind opportunity for those players still looking to make G-League rosters and fit into their new NBA rotations. We will update as much as possible with early scouting reports and handicaps for wagering. We got off to a good SL start so let us keep it goin’. We are betting 1 unit to win x.

NBA Las Vegas Summer League Record: (+1.24 units)

  • 2:30pm cst: Philadelphia 76ers vs. New Orleans Pelicans -2.5

The last time the Sixers played they actually lived up to their talent level. The Pelicans have been great throughout SL but it just comes down to if they will be playing their roster or benching Dyson Daniels and Jordan Hawkins. From what I can see he should be playing today so let’s finish strong with the Pels.

Pick: Pelicans -2.5 (-110)

  • 3:00pm cst: Brooklyn Nets vs. Cleveland Cavaliers -3.5

This Nets team plays hard and they like to get up and down the court playing with their speed. The one thing I did notice when they were playing the Raptors was they were struggling with their size. The Nets are an undersized team where the Cavaliers have the most size. The Cavs have a big front court that should give the Nets problems. This is a final four game so expect a good one but I love the Cavs size here.

Pick: Cavaliers -3.5 (-110)

  • 4:30pm cst: Detroit Pistons -2 vs. Indiana Pacers

Without their NBA players, the Indiana Pacers are just not strong enough even with Jarace Walker. The Pistons continue to play with a great energy now led by Ausar Thompson. It would be hard not to back the Pistons on a short number as I feel they have the better team.

Pick: Pistons -2 (-110)

  • 5:00pm cst: Utah Jazz vs. Houston Rockets -4.5

This should be a great game and there is a very interesting number here as well. It will definitely be offense against defense. The Rockets use their defense to create offense and have been very physical. The Jazz are more finesse with 3PT shooting. This number does feel high though by 1 point of 2. I think I will back the Jazz in this one.

Pick: Jazz ML (+155)

  • 6:30pm cst: Oklahoma City Thunder -2.5 vs. San Antonio Spurs

There is honestly no telling who will be starting for either team. I am assuming the Thunder starters will be playing because they are favored. I do know there will not be any Malaki Branham though. I’ll take the dog Spurs assuming Holmgren and the other NBA starters are sitting out.

Pick: Spurs ML (+125)

  • 7:00pm cst: Miami Heat vs. Portland Trail Blazers -4

This feels like a steep number for Portland even with Nikola Jovic probably sitting out. Miami played terrible in its last game. Portland can sometime get lazy so if the Heat play defense and physical with them then they can win this one.

Pick: Heat ML (+150)

  • 8:30pm cst: Atlanta Hawks vs. Dallas Mavericks -2.5

Both of these teams like to run and shoot so this will be a fun game. I do think that the Hawks have the better players. Dallas is very inconsistent, which makes them hard to trust for 4 quarters.

Pick: Hawks ML (+125)

  • 9:00pm cst: Los Angeles Lakers -1 vs. Los Angeles Clippers

A west coast showdown to close the night down. Y’all know we love the Clippers because of how hard they play. The Lakers got blasted the last time they played. I have to go with the Clippers here even if Max Christie is back for the Lakers.

Pick: Clippers ML (+100)
