NBA Sides Season Record: 4-3-1 (+1.14 Units) — Betting 1 Unit to Win X

  • 6:00pm cst: Denver Nuggets -5.5 vs. Memphis Grizzlies; Total 221.5

The Nuggets dominated the Lakers in their ring ceremony home opener and now face the Grizzlies without Ja Morant and a few others. The Grizz were out rebounded 52 to 37 against the Pelicans. If the Nuggets can control the boards they should be able to take advantage of the Grizzlies lack of size. Memphis will want to turn this into a run and gun game, which is a bad idea against Denver. I feel like this is a short number against a short handed Grizzlies team who is undersized. The Nuggets are too deep.

Pick: Nuggets -5.5 (-110) [via DraftKings]

  • 6:00pm cst: Detroit Pistons vs. Charlotte Hornets -4.5; Total 226

The Hornets are getting a lot of respect here laying 4.5 after defeating the Hawks at home. The Pistons had a pretty good game themselves almost taking down the Heat on the road. Both teams have good size so this will definitely come down to making baskets (obviously). The Pistons play defense and rebound. Pistons greatly out rebounded the Heat. This number is a bit too high in my opinion. I will continue to buy on the Pistons as dogs like this.

Pick: Pistons +4.5 (-112) [via DraftKings]

  • 6:30pm cst: Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics -8; Total 218

We have a rematch of last years Eastern Conference Finals. The Heat have arguable gotten worse with the loss of talent and the Celtics have gotten better gaining some season changing talent. This is a high number and I believe far too many to lay with Boston. As we learned in the C’s game against the Knicks, Boston cannot close out games. That has been their issue for the past couple seasons. I’ll take the points with Miami until Boston proves they can handle a number this large against top talent in the East. Miami will need to improve their rebounding greatly. The Porzingis addition is a huge addition inside so hopefully he stays healthy.

Pick: Heat +8 (-110) [via DraftKings]

  • 6:30pm cst: New York Knicks vs. Atlanta Hawks -1; Total 228.5

The Hawks lost to the Hornets. I am not a fan of the Knicks team with Julius Randle. They are too unpredictable.

Pick: NONE

  • 6:30pm cst: Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Cleveland Cavaliers -3.5; Total 227.5

Once again, the OKC Thunder are getting disrespected by a Eastern Conference team. Cleveland has a good defense but they played a close game against Brooklyn where Cam Thomas torched them. That should equate to a much better offense, and player like SGA to have a great game. Dog play here is worth a shot even if Cleveland is at home.

Pick: Thunder ML (+140) [via DraftKings]

  • 7:00pm cst: Houston Rockets vs. San Antonio Spurs -3; Total 224.5

Even though we were robbed of a full game of Wemby Wednesday night we still watched a great game. Houston on the other hand was quite literally manhandled by the Magic. Orlando destroyed Houston on the boards. Something you would think San Antonio would excel at with Wembanyama but he camps around the perimeter. Yes, it was only one game but the Spurs need to out rebound Houston and they will win. It is something that I believe will happen tonight.

Pick: Spurs -3 (-112) [via DraftKings]

  • 8:30pm cst: Los Angeles Clippers -4 vs. Utah Jazz; Total 227

Pick: Clippers -4 (-112) [via DraftKings]

  • 9:00pm cst: Golden State Warriors vs. Sacramento Kings -3; Total 237

Pick: Warriors +3 (-108) [via DraftKings]

  • 9:00pm cst: Orlando Magic -3.5 vs. Portland Trailblazers; Total 220.5

Pick: Magic -3.5 (-112) [via DraftKings]
