College Hoops Big Monday
Mark Adams and his Texas Tech Red Raiders look to take down 1st place Texas Longhorns tonight in Lubbock.
We took Super Bowl Sunday off but went a blistering 6-1 on Saturday. Time to continue that into Big Monday. So far on the season we are 90-90-3 waiting for that break out. Let’s get after it!

Miami Hurricanes (+5.5) vs. North Carolina Tar Heels; total 155.5; 6:00pm
North Carolina is coming off a huge home win against Clemson where they blew them out. Miami is currently on a 4 game winning streak sitting .5 games out of 1st place. This game will come down to whether or not Miami’s offense continues to be red hot. The Hurricanes are a great road team, posting 6-2-1 against the spread record away. UNC is much better at home than away but I feel this number it a couple too many for the Tar Heels to be laying. I’ll take points with a strong road team that can score points with anyone in the country.
Texas Longhorns vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders (+4); total 145.5; 8:00pm ct
The Red Raiders are fighting for its last few opportunities to steal a NCAA Tournament invitation. Texas Tech is coming off a huge win vs. Kansas State where they forced the Wildcats to shoot 35%. Tech has a very scrappy defense and they will put the pressure on Texas for 40 minutes. The Longhorns have historically struggled in Lubbock and I see that happening again tonight. This game will be the Red Raiders for a lack of a better term - Super Bowl. Crowd will be hot and the point total is 145.5 and that also should be the total on the amount of “horns down” gestures we see. Longhorns are a tough team but the offense does struggle at times. TT usually gets a friendly whistle and have a touch of magic in Lubbock. Going with Tech especially after Texas had one of its best shooting performances of all time on Saturday.
West Virginia Mountaineers (+6.5) vs. Baylor Bears'; total 148.5; 8:00pm ct
The Mountaineers got sent back running to the Appalachian Mountains after the Texas Longhorns had their way with them in Austin. Bobby Huggins doesn’t take to kindly to gettin’ his ass whipped. I expect a focused and spirited performance on the road for WVU. Baylor looks as good as can be but they have Kansas up next on their minds so a little look ahead. I’ll take Bob Huggins in a bounce back game to try and keep this close.
