College Hoops Saturday

The Oklahoma Sooners will be lead at home today by HC Porter Moser and Fort Worth’s own Grant Sherfield.

Huge college basketball Saturday and I can’t wait to jump into it! Got these games locked in and some quick excepts at the bottom. We went 3-2 last night thanks to a Michigan State Spartans late collapse. 10-10 on the early conference season. Let’s make a push today.

West Virginia Mountaineers vs. Oklahoma Sooners (-3.5); total 137.5 11:00am ct

The West Virginia Mountaineers are 0-4 in conference and struggling. OU is 1-3 and has kept up with every Big 12 team they have played, some of the best in the country. Today in the Lloyd Noble Center expect a top effort from the Sooners while they take advantage of WVU and secure a home win. Grant Sherfield has been very hot recently and the Sooners need a win. Under 4 points is a go for OU. Boomer.

Georgia Bulldogs (+6) vs. Ole Miss Rebels; total 135.5 12:00pm ct

The Georgia Bulldogs travel to Oxford, MS to take on the Rebs. The Bulldogs have been a sneaky team this season in the SEC with a 2-1 record to begin the season. Ole Miss struggles on the offense side of the ball. Usually, the defense comes to play at home for the Rebels but this is too many points. I would make Ole Miss -2 for homecourt but that’s it. No way the Rebs are favored on a neutral court. Give me the surging Bulldogs getting 6 points.

#7 Kansas State Wildcats (+4.5) vs. #14 TCU Horned Frogs; total 147.5 1:00pm ct

The red hot #7 K-State Wildcats travel to Fort Worth to take on the Horned Frogs. TCU is currently on a two game losing streak after back to back heart breakers vs. Iowa State and Texas. Last year K-State traveled to Fort Worth and I thought it would be an easy home win for TCU. Nope! I expect more of the same from the Wildcats today because the ‘Cats are 4-2 ATS on the road vs. TCU. This should be one of the best games today. Let’s see if EMAW Nation can stay hot in a true road test. The only thing that scares me is they face Kansas in 3 days so this is a points play for me. Too many.

#10 Providence Friars (+6.5) vs. Creighton Blue Jays; total 145.5 1:00pm ct

This game scares me a bit. Providence is undefeated in conference play and I’m just waiting for the game they’ll have a slip up. The tough matchups the Friars have had were at home and they get a road test today. Creighton lives and dies by the 3 pointer. If they get that going - watch out. Providence will play tough physical defense with them and rebound. This will keep them in the game. I expected this spread to be shorter - around 4 points or less, so I’ll take the Friars.

Pittsburgh Panthers vs. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (+3.5); total 141.5 2:00pm ct

The Rambling Wreck from Georgia Tech host the Pitt Panthers today. Pitt is coming off of a blown win on the road against Duke. Pitt started off conference play 4-0 but have dropped its last two games. I expect them to fully come down to earth today before they matchup with Louisville and bounce back. The Yellow Jackets are pesky and play great defense. Combine that with homecourt advantage and the fact the are 5-0 ATS at home vs. Pitt their last five games and 9-1 ATS last 10 overall. I like GT and its defense today.

Missouri Tigers (+5.5) vs. Florida Gators; total 150.5 2:30pm ct

The Florida Gators and its tough defense host the Mizzou Tigers today. As we saw against LSU the Gators don’t have very much offense but Missouri does. Both teams are tied at 2-2 in conference play so this is a big game for both. Tigers are coming off of a blow out loss in College Station so they should be focused. This game recently has been played very close with the home team usually winning but I feel this should be a spread of 2 or 3 so I’ll take the 5.5 and the Missouri offense.

Duke Blue Devils vs. #17 Clemson Tigers (-1); total 141.5 4:00pm ct

The Duke Blue Devils travel to face the #17 Clemson Tigers today. Duke has been struggling on the road and don’t have the fire power they’ve had recently. This is a situation where Clemson has its chance to take advantage and take down the vaunted Blue Devils. Clemson plays tough defense and it will lead them tonight to stay undefeated in ACC play.

Texas A&M Aggies vs. South Carolina Gamecocks (+8); total 133.5 5:00 pm

The Gamecocks are comin’ back home after a big win against Kentucky in Rupp Arena. They face off with the Aggies that are 3-0 in SEC play with its two biggest wins coming at home. This Gamecocks crowd will be riled up after that win against UK and that’ll help its defense that is comparable to the Aggie offense. Average. A&M isn’t anything special and do not deserve 8 points on the road. Go ‘Cocks!
