College Baseball Showdown Preview:

Enrique Bradfield Jr. and the #4 Vanderbilt Commodores will be headlining this weekends College Baseball Showdown at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

I can already hear the crackling of metal cleats on pavement, which is a sure sign its baseball season. College baseball gets us started in mid February before the MLB season shifts into gear. We will attempt to cover as much baseball as we possibly can especially with college basketball heading into March. On the wagering side of things college baseball is a little bit more difficult due to large favorites but offers opportunities to find nice underdogs. We will also lean on totals throughout the season and tournament future plays. Don’t worry we’ll explain along the way. Let’s discuss the upcoming College Baseball Showdown at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas that starts tomorrow! (Betting lines via Draft Kings Sports Book).

College Baseball Showdown at Globe Life Field, Arlington, Texas:

#15 Oklahoma State Cowboys (-175) vs. Missouri Tigers (+150); 11:00am ct

The Cowboys from Stillwater will be ridin’ into Arlington with top RHP prospect Juaron Watts-Brown, a sophomore transfer from Long Beach State. The Cowboys also have one of the best 2B in the nation with Roc Riggio. OSU is familiar with Globe Life Field but have not had the best success there as they have posted a 5-5 record. The Tigers are nothing to scoff at. Mizzou bring with them fifth year senior Luke Mann with All-SEC preseason honors. The Tigers also have one of the best defenses in the SEC who finished the season with a .976 fielding percentage. No bet for me here with the stud sophomore on the mound and OSU healthy favorites. Missouri is a solid squad to throw a small bet for them to win straight up if you want a degenerate 11am baseball bet.

Pick: N/A

#4 Vanderbilt Commodores (-145) vs. #8 TCU Horned Frogs (+125); 3:00pm ct

Vanderbilt is led by one of my favorite players to watch last year and that’s CF Enrique Bradfield Jr. Think of Jazz Chisolm for the Miami Marlins and that’s the type of juice Bradfield Jr. brings to a baseball game. Vandy also has a strong RHP in Patrick Reilly. They will be facing DDSN Top 10 foe the TCU Horned Frogs who have plenty of talent. Junior Brayden Taylor is the top rated college 3B coming into the season. Probably starter will be 6’6” RHP transfer from Kansas Ryan Vanderhei. He is more a reliever than a starting pitcher. Vanderhei has sturggled as a starting pitcher going 6-8 in games he has started. Starting for Vanderbilt will be blue chipper LHP Carter Holton who earned an impressive 3.14 ERA with 97 strikeouts as a freshman last season. This is a cheap price for an impressive Vandy squad and stud on the mound. You can either bet $145 to win $100 or what I prefer and recommend when it comes to baseball is bet $100 to win $68.97.

Pick: Vanderbilt (-145); $100 bet to win $68.97

#12 Arkansas Razorbacks (-120) vs. Texas Longhorns (+100); 7:00pm ct

The Razorbacks will be showing up to Globe Life Field with strong starting pitching with top MLB prospects in RHP Jaxson Wiggins and LHP Hunter Hollan. The Razorback pitching will have a pair of pre-season All-Americans behind them with INF Peyton Stovall and OF Jered Wegner. If Arkansas has a lead its usually safe with preseason All-American closer Brady Tygart who as a freshman boasted a 3.83 ERA. Texas will have LHP Lucas Gordon on the mound who posted a 7-2 record with a 3.05 ERA last season. It’s the hitting away from Austin that scares me for the Longhorns.

Pick: Arkansas (-120); $100 bet to win $83.33
