College Baseball Tuesday
We have some solid one game matchups tonight that will be sure to entertain. Earlier if you are following along on Twitter we picked the Duke Blue Devils to upset East Carolina … Duke is winning 9-0 in the top of the 6th inning. We have jumped out to a strong start to the season as you can see and we do plan on stopping there. Make sure you follow on twitter as well to catch the early plays that miss the write up. This was one of the quickest writeups we’ve had due to how busy we have been but that should change. There will be much more detail in those to come! We will have all the college baseball gambling insight and discussion you could ask for. Let’s get after it!

College Baseball on the West Coast:
2/28/23: Miami Hurricanes (-195) vs. Florida Atlantic Owls (+160); total 13.5; 5:30pm ct
The Hurricanes come into this game ranked #8 in the country but they should not take this FAU team lightly. They have an offense that can keep up led by Jackson Ross who is batting .393 with 4 HR & 10 RBI. He does have some help with John Schroeder and Nolan Schanuel. FAU will be pitching LHP Evan Waterbor (1-0, 1.80 ERA) who has 6 strikeouts in 5 innings pitched. Miami will be throwing Ben Chestnutt (1-0, 2.46) he has 11 strikeouts in 7.1 innings of work but also 6 walks. If FAU can take advantage of the loose strike zone from Chestnutt they can get some easy runs. This should be a more even contest than this line suggests. I will take a shot with the home dog here.

2/28/23: Southern Miss Golden Eagles (+100) vs. Mississippi State Bulldogs (-130); total 12; 6:00pm ct
Southern Miss loss 2 of 3 to Illinois this past weekend and one of its best players will be out tonight due to injury in Slade Willks. The Bulldogs had a great weekend in Starkville after dropping its first game to Arizona State they won the last two games. The Golden Eagles will be starting LHP Tyler Martin, a transfer from Nebraska who has come out of the bullpen to start the year. No information on the Bulldogs’ pitcher just yet. I’m not trusting this Southern Miss team missing one of its best hitters and coming off a poor performance vs. Illinois. This number is light for the home team and I’ll take it.
Pick: Mississippi State (-130); $100 bet to win $76.92
2/28/23: LSU Tigers (-160) vs. Texas Longhorns (+130); Total 12; 6:30pm ct
The Tigers are #1 in the DDSN 24 Pack and will be putting that title on the line as they travel to Austin to take on the Longhorns. LSU was just recently playing in the Round Rock Classic just north of Austin this weekend winning 2/3. The Longhorns won 2/3 against the Indiana Hoosiers at home. No information regarding starting pitching from either side. Money has come in on the Tigers but I am looking towards the Longhorns here and its success vs. LSU in Austin. If Lucas Gordon pitches, which I doubt because Longhorns will be on the road at Cal State Fullerton this weekend, they will have the upper hand. It’s a nice underdog spot for UT in a huge home game.
Pick: Texas (+130); $100 bet to win $130
2/28/23: TCU Horned Frogs (-140) vs. Dallas Baptist Patriots (+110); total 13; 6:30pm ct
This should be a great game especially with Dallas Baptist putting its undefeated streak on the line. TCU is coming off a rough weekend against Florida State losing 2/3 games. Starting in the game for TCU it will be LHP Braden Sloan (0-0. 2.70 ERA) against DBU RHP Zach Heaton (1-0, 0.00) with each only seeing 3 innings of work. Both teams also have strong offenses to back each one up. I do like the little brother in this underdog spot. I like Dallas Baptist to kick its season off with a strong win here. Give me the Patriots at home.
