College Basketball Season Record: 60-55-4 — Betting 1 Unit to Win X
5:30pm cst: Florida Atlantic Owls -2 vs. Illinois Fighting Illini; Total 146.5
We have a huge matchup to kick off a great college basketball day. In Madison Square Garden we have an Illinois team who is one of the best defensive and rebounding teams in the country against the Owls of FAU. Florida Atlantic can defend and rebound with the best of them. What separates the Owls is their guard play and offense. This is something that Illinois does not have yet and that is a reliable offense. People continue to look down on this FAU team but they tend to make people eat their words. I am backing the better offense against the untested Illinois team.

6:00pm cst: Providence Friars vs. Oklahoma Sooners -5; Total 142.5
This is the Oklahoma Sooners’ coming out party. Most of the basketball world missed out on the OU run against Iowa and USC because the games were on during football season. But not tonight. I expect a huge game from Oklahoma. Providence is a strong defensive and rebounding team but when it comes to the offensive side of the ball they are a bit weaker. This is where the Oklahoma defense will take advantage.

6:00pm cst: Wisconsin Badgers vs. Michigan State Spartans -5.5; Total 132.5
Wisconsin is coming off a huge home win against Marquette so this feels like a fat and happy situation heading to East Lansing to face the Spartans. Michigan State is getting respect on the number for this very reason. They are also well rested. I am expecting a big game from MSU in a perfect situational spot to turn their season around heading into Big 10 play. I like this number being under six points.

6:00pm cst: Villanova Wildcats -2 vs. Kansas State Wildcats; Total 143
This will be a battle of two great defensive teams. Villanova is coming off a two game losing steak and will now have to step foot into the Octagon of Doom. This is the perfect game for Kansas State to kick off their campaign heading into Big 12 play. This is a quick turnaround after a brutal week for Nova. I like K-State to take advantage here.

6:30pm cst: Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs. Georgia Bulldogs -5; Total 146.5
The Yellow Jackets are coming off a massive win against Duke and now must face their rivals on the road. Georgia scored a huge win last week on the road against Florida State but now are at home. Georgia Tech ranks higher in all metrics over the Bulldogs. I feel this line is a bit too high. I’ll take the road team getting a couple too many points in my opinion. Georgia Tech needs to outrebound UGA to win and chase them off the 3PT line.

7:30pm cst: Loyola Chicago Ramblers -2 vs. Tulsa Golden Hurricanes; Total 142.5
This number jumped out at me almost immediately last night. Loyola-Chicago struggles offensively and Tulsa has a great defense that can rebound. Tulsa will also be at home for this one. The Golden Hurricanes also have the better offense that is why I do not understand why the Ramblers were favored. I am backing Tulsa here with their underrated team.

8:00pm cst: UCONN Huskies -6 vs. North Carolina Tar Heels; Total 151.5
This is another game played in Madison Square Garden, which should be the matchup of the week. I was looking at this number thinking to myself, “UCONN was favored by 6/7 against an injured Texas team” and now UNC is a six point dog too? I don’t understand it. I know UCONN is coming off a loss and UNC is off two tough games against Tennessee and Florida State but it feels high. North Carolina can play with UCONN pound for pound with the size that they have on the interior. They also have the guards to matchup and defend the Huskies. As I talk about in the new YouTube video, the Tar Heels have just as good of a team. I’m taking the points.

8:00pm cst: North Texas Mean Green vs. Boise State Broncos -4; Total 124.5
We know North Texas is one of the best free throw shooting teams but they tend to rely on the three point shot much too often. This Boise State team is on a winning streak and continues to cash us tickets. UNT still has not figured out a way to score inside and work the ball instead of relying on 3PT shots. THis is where Boise has the advantage.

8:00pm cst: Indiana Hoosiers vs. Michigan Wolverines -7; Total 145
This Wolverines team is tough to figure out. They have good spurts and very bad ones. They went toe to toe on the road against Oregon but came up just short. They have not done anything to deserve to be a seven point favorite against anyone much less division rival Indiana. I’m taking the points with an Indiana team that can keep this game close by rebounding. If they can get the three to fall they will even have a chance to steal a win here.
