College Basketball Season Record: 22-20-1 — Betting 1 Unit to Win X

  • 7:00pm cst: Tennessee Volunteers vs. Purdue Boilermakers -3.5; Total 133.5

Same song different dance. We know and have banked on how soft Purdue and Zach Edey are when they finally play against tougher competition. When I say tough, I am talking about being as tough as gravel. That is what the Tennessee Volunteers are playing against front court teams. The Vols struggle with teams that can run and play with pace. When Syracuse was able to do that, it gave them trouble. When it turned into a slugfest, they ran away. The same happens with Purdue. Tennessee has the size and toughness to match up with Purdue. They had a terrible shooting night last night against Gonzaga but they had a massive size advantage. We have two of the best defenses and rebounding teams in the nation. I give the nod to Tennessee on offense with the addition of Dalton Knecht and Ziegler back off the bench. I think the Vols have the toughness to match with Purdue to eliminate Edey and force the others to contribute. The better rebounding team will win.

Pick: Tennessee +3.5 (-110) [via DraftKings]

  • 9:30pm cst: Marquette Golden Eagles vs. Kansas Jayhawks -4; Total 156.5

Marquette escaped last night because they live and die by the 3PT shot. A late three bailed them out. The officiating also kept them in the game after losing by 10+ points. Tyler Kolek is overrated and a walking turnover. Marquette struggles against teams that can play defense and have size like UCLA and now Kansas. KU is a veteran team looking to make a run this season. I am not a fan of team that live and die by the three because when it gets to nut cutting time they usually go cold unless they have NBA talent. In my opinion Marquette does not have NBA talent. I like the Jayhawks here. UCLA dominated inside and I expect the same with Kansas. If Bill Self watched the game last night he will know.

Pick: Kansas -4 (-112) [via DraftKings]
