Get ready for an adrenaline rush as the NASCAR Cup Series heads to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Ambetter Health 400! This race marks the second of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season, and it’s set to drop the green flag on Sunday, February 25, at 2:00 pm cst.
Atlanta has quickly become one of NASCAR’s premier action tracks since its reconfiguration in 2022. The combination of sustained speeds and pack racing contained to just 1.5 miles in length creates exciting racing that is sure to challenge nerves.
The spotlight is on William Byron, who enters Atlanta looking to become the first driver since 2009 to win back-to-back races to open the year. Byron could become the first driver to win the Daytona 500 and then win the second race of the season since Matt Kenseth did so in 2009.
Pulling that off won’t be easy. Byron will have to prevail in yet another pack race that is sure to feature a number of his challengers from the Daytona 500: Namely his Hendrick Motorsports teammates in Alex Bowman, Kyle Larson, and Georgia’s own Chase Elliott.
